The Rev. Bradley Carroll, Pastor, began his ministry as St. John’s 13th pastor on May 1, 2018.
He graduated from South High School in Minneapolis, the University of Minnesota with a B. A. in Religion, and from Luther Northwestern Theological Seminary, St. Paul, Minnesota with a M. Div. He was ordained June 20, 1993 at Hope English Evangelical Lutheran Church in Minneapolis and has previously served congregations in Western Pennsylvania and Northern Texas. Pastor and his wife Sharon have one grown daughter, Dixie, who is an actor in New York.
Eric Gombert, Cantor, began his ministry at St. John’s June 1, 2017. Eric began his music studies at a young age, first studying piano and later most woodwind instruments prior to beginning organ lessons while in the seventh grade. He was born and raised in the Lehigh Valley area where he graduated from Whitehall High School and studied both piano and organ with Emerson Harding. Eric holds a Bachelor of Music degree with a concentration in Sacred Music from Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton, NJ, where he was an organ student of Dr. Donald McDonald. Eric is a member of the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians and the American Guild of Organists, for which he serves as Dean of the Lehigh Valley Chapter. In addition to working at St. John’s, he also teaches piano and organ, and works as Director of Operations for the Northeastern PA Synod of the ELCA.
Scott Boka is the sexton at St. John’s. He is the third generation of the Boka Family here at St. John’s. He is a graduate of William Allen High School. Scott is also an employee at Uline, where he has worked for 13 years. Scott and his wife were married at St. John’s September of 2014 and live in Slatington. He enjoys any hands on work and building new things.
