One of the ways in which the people of St. John’s serve is through partnerships with other organizations located in our community. Among our partners:
Jefferson Elementary School, located at 750 St. John Street, serves children living in our immediate neighborhood. Volunteers for St. John’s assist teachers in the classroom and assist with the School’s Food and Clothing Banks. We have periodic drives for food and school supplies (see top picture), as well as providing Christmas gifts for children and families with the greatest need. Lehigh County Office of Children and Youth Services places children who require temporary out-of-home care in foster homes. The transition to a temporary setting can sometimes be a distressing experience. Inspire, our youth ministry at St. John’s (which is no longer active), provides backpacks filled with the supplies a child in transition often need, to help make the transition a bit less stressful for the child when called upon. |
