St. John’s Quilting Ministry Our Quilting Ministry is a tangible way to share God’s love with our neighbors in need. We welcome all who want to help make quilts—no special sewing skills needed. We also welcome donations of fabric or funds to purchase batting and supplies to support this ministry. Quilt making involves cutting fabric squares, sewing simple straight seams and tying knots – it’s that simple! Our quilts are shared locally with foster children, home-bound individuals and others in need. They are also shared around the world through the Lutheran World Relief Quilt Program.
The group meets on Monday mornings from 10 - Noon. Check calendar for up to date schedule.
Lutheran World Relief Quilt and Kit Ministry LWR distributed its first quilts in 1945 to families in war-torn Europe following the Second World War. Within a decade, the ministry was reaching around the globe to villages far removed from the world’s attention. Today, an average of 300,000 quilts are lovingly given worldwide each year. LWR Mission Quilts are highly regarded throughout the world because of their quality and consistency. Careful adherence to our quilt-making guidelines ensure that every quilt is useful, consistent and fair.
